S-P-01172 EPD ECO-ASFALT® (Swedish version)

This PCR refers to the old version of the standard EN 15804 (EN 15804:2012+A1:2013). A new version was published 2019-12-20 (PCR 2019:14), referring to the new version of EN 15804 (EN 15804:2012+A2:2019). 
The validity period of PCR 2012:01 ended 2022-02-28. As of 2022-03-01, PCR 2019:14 is the only valid main PCR for construction products in the International EPD System. 
The below listed sub-PCRs are no longer valid, instead the c-PCRs under PCR 2019:14 shall be used.&nbsp;
This document serves as Product Category Rules (PCR) for Construction products and Construction services. It aims to be the main way to develop and register EPDs in the International EPD System, compliant with the European standard EN 15804:2012+A1:2013 (Sustainability of construction works - Environmental product declarations - Core rules for the product category of construction products).
In addition, this document may also be the basis for development of "sub-PCRs" for more specific product categories

<li>If this document is used as a PCR, it may be used for Construction products and construction services for an EPD based on a declared unit, cradle-to-gate or cradle-to-gate with options;</li>
<li>If this document is used together with a sub-PCR, it may be used for an EPD based on a functional unit, cradle-to-grave.</li>
</ul>

Construction products and construction services (EN 15804:A1) (expired)

This PCR refers to the old version of the standard EN 15804 (EN 15804:2012+A1:2013). A new version was published 2019-12-20 (PCR 2019:14), referring to the new version of EN 15804 (EN 15804:2012+A2:2019).
The validity period of PCR 2012:01 ended 2022-02-28. As of 2022-03-01, PCR 2019:14 is the only valid main PCR for construction products in the International EPD System.
The below listed sub-PCRs are no longer valid, instead the c-PCRs under PCR 2019:14 shall be used.

The product ECO-Asfalt® from Peab Asfalt is produced using bio-fuel for drying and heating the aggregate material, the process which requires the greatest amount of energy in the production process. 
 
ECO-Asfalt® can completely replace conventional hot-mixed asphalt in all types of applications, such as high-speed roads, airfields, industrial plants, ports, streets and cycle paths.

ECO-Asfalt® and ECO-Asfalt® Plus was produced at thirteen of Peab Asfalt’s stationary asphalt plants in Sweden in 2017, and production reached over 1.8 million tons. 
The asphalt types covered in this EPD are AG, ABB, ABT and ABS, in all cases intended for the paving of roads. The asphalt is CE-marked as required by SS-EN ISO 13108-1-8 and SS-EN ISO 13108-20-21.

Asphalt is 100% recyclable, offering the possibility to further reduce environmental impact by reducing the need for new raw materials. 
Today, reused asphalt is included in the manufacture of new asphalt for several applications, with maintained technical performance. 
The recommended amount will however vary from case to case. This EPD includes an example showing the potential environmental impact from including 10% reused asphalt.
