This EPD covers electricity generated in Vattenfall's Nordic wind farms, located in Denmark and Sweden, expressed per 1 kWh generated and distributed to customer.
In Denmark, Vattenfall owned in 2014 33 wind farms with an installed capacity of 405 MW. One of them, Horns rev with 80 with 80 turbines, is located in the North Sea west of Jutland, of which Vattenfall owns 60 %. The other are on-shore mainly located in Jutland. Total electricity generation 2014 was about 1 140 GWh. Vattenfall is strongly involved in the Danish Repowering Programme, under which old and often inappropriately located wind turbines are replaced by bigger, more efficient ones. One example is Klim wind farm that will be the largest wind farm on land in Denmark when it comes to production in 2015. The 35 old windmills will be replaced with 22 bigger ones.
In Sweden (2014) Vattenfall owned and operated 9 onshore wind farms and 3 offshore, with a total of 135 turbines. The total installed capacity in Sweden 2014 was 272 MW and the average annual electricity generation about 750 GWh.
