This document provides Product Category Rules (PCR) for the assessment of the environmental performance of UN CPC 012 (Vegetables) and the declaration of this performance by an EPD. This UN CPC group consists of the following underlying classes:

  • 0121 - Leafy or stem vegetables
  • 0122 - Melons
  • 0123 - Fruit-bearing vegetables
  • 0124 - Green leguminous vegetables
  • 0125 - Root, bulb or tuberous vegetables
  • 0126 - Vegetable seeds, except beet seeds
  • 0127 - Mushrooms and truffles
  • 0129 - Vegetables, fresh, n.e.c.

The PCR does not cover frozen vegetables (UN CPC 2131), for which the is a separate PCR available.

Any comments to this PCR document may be given on the PCR Forum or directly to the PCR moderator during the period of validity.

The EPD shall refer to a specific PCR version number. The production of new PCR versions does not affect the EPD certification period.
