EPD International Stakeholder Conference 2017

The 5th EPD International Stakeholder Conference will take place in London, United Kingdom, on September 20th, 2017.

Registration is now open until September 8th (or until the maximum number of participants har been reached).

We are happy to invite stakeholders working with Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) to the 5th EPD International Stakeholder Conference.

The event is primarily aimed at industry (companies, industry associations), LCA practitioners and consultants, EPD verifiers, as well as users of EPD information in different applications, such as certification schemes, environmental labelling schemes, public/private procurement and BIM.

The event is free, including lunch and coffee breaks. In case of registration without participation a no-show fee of €120 will be charged unless participation is cancelled before September 8th.

Agenda and themes

This year's presentations and panel discussions will focus on two main themes:

Some key items that were discussed were:
The new version of the General Programme Instructions were officially launched.
The idea of “net of PCRs” was introduced for the food sector to increase coordination of methodological issues across PCRs. 
Interesting EPD case studies were presented by companies such as Coop Italia, Barilla and BYK Chemie.
Important feedback was given on what the International EPD System should focus on going forward. Summarized by Massimo Marino, chairman of the Technical Committee, they were realiability, governance, harmonization between different systems and communication.

The event will also provide participants with the latest EPD news from the International EPD System, the UK, Europe and beyond.

Venue and travel information

The venue is located in central London, accessible by foot, or public transport to:

  1. Chancery Lane Station (Central line), or
  2. Holborn Station (Piccadilly line)

London may be accessed by train from most of mainland Britain. International train travel is possible from Paris and Brussels to St. Pancras International Station. To reach the venue from St. Pancras, use the Piccadilly line (2 stops).

Environmental considerations

When possible, environmental considerations are made in the planning of the event, e.g.:

  • Event organized in city that may be reached via train by stakeholders in multiple countries to reduce air travels,
  • Central venue easily reached by public transport or by foot,
  • Paper use will be minimized e.g. by only providing electronic versions of presentations.
