EPD-IES-0017487:003 MACOSTA sheets(steel)

This document (version 2.0.X) provides Product Category Rules (PCR) for the assessment of the environmental performance of crude steel and/or basic iron steel products including special steels (except those destined to become construction products) and the declaration of this performance by an EPD.
Basic iron steel products must be considered those semi-finished steels or intermediate special steels that will be further processed to become a finished consumer product. Ingots, blooms, slabs, plates, rolled products (wire rods, bars, flats, billets), cold finished (cold-drawn, peeling/turning and straightening) and basic forged products (bars and flats) in carbon steels, free cutting steels, alloyed steels, spring steels, microalloyed steels, cold forming steels, bearing steels… fall under the scope of this PCR, when they are manufactured with the goal to be supplied to further manufacturers and then transformed in final products like naval chains, bearing steels, tool steels, shafts for automotive industry…etc.
The corresponding UN CPC codes are 4112 &amp; 412.

Being updated - Basic iron or steel products & special steels, except construction products

This PCR is being updated, with expected publication date in December 2024. Among others, the updated PCR will align with General Programme Instruction (GPI) version 5, to be published in Q1 2025.
The open consultation is ongoing from 2024-11-06 until 2025-01-06. Any stakeholder is welcome to provide comments on the draft PCR, available for download below. Comments shall be sent to <a href="mailto:g.benito@ik-ingenieria.com" target="_self">the PCR Moderator </a>and <a href="mailto:pcr@environdec.com" target="_self">the Secretaria</a><a href="mailto:pcr@environdec.com" target="_self">t</a> using the Excel template for comments, available for download below.
All dates are preliminary and subject to change.

The validity period of the present version of the PCR (Version 2.X.X) was extended with 1 year upon initiation of the PCR updating process.
