EPD-IES-0017490:003 PGS PES2 PSP2 PPG PBG2 PVS2 sheets(steel)

This document (version 2.0.X) provides Product Category Rules (PCR) for the assessment of the environmental performance of crude steel and/or basic iron steel products including special steels (except those destined to become construction products) and the declaration of this performance by an EPD.
Basic iron steel products must be considered those semi-finished steels or intermediate special steels that will be further processed to become a finished consumer product. Ingots, blooms, slabs, plates, rolled products (wire rods, bars, flats, billets), cold finished (cold-drawn, peeling/turning and straightening) and basic forged products (bars and flats) in carbon steels, free cutting steels, alloyed steels, spring steels, microalloyed steels, cold forming steels, bearing steels… fall under the scope of this PCR, when they are manufactured with the goal to be supplied to further manufacturers and then transformed in final products like naval chains, bearing steels, tool steels, shafts for automotive industry…etc.
The corresponding UN CPC codes are 4112 &amp; 412.

Being updated - Basic iron or steel products & special steels, except construction products

This PCR is being updated, with expected publication date in December 2024. Among others, the updated PCR will align with General Programme Instruction (GPI) version 5, to be published in Q1 2025.
The open consultation is ongoing from 2024-11-06 until 2025-01-06. Any stakeholder is welcome to provide comments on the draft PCR, available for download below. Comments shall be sent to <a href="mailto:g.benito@ik-ingenieria.com" target="_self">the PCR Moderator </a>and <a href="mailto:pcr@environdec.com" target="_self">the Secretaria</a><a href="mailto:pcr@environdec.com" target="_self">t</a> using the Excel template for comments, available for download below.
All dates are preliminary and subject to change.

The validity period of the present version of the PCR (Version 2.X.X) was extended with 1 year upon initiation of the PCR updating process.

PES2 is POS-TONE (high durability big wrinkle polyester steel)
PES2 is a premium steel sheet offering exceptional durability and suitability for use in building materials. PES2 is a soft and warm color product with a luxurious appearance, created using a stone powder-like texture.&nbsp;

3)	PSP2
PSP2 is high weather resistant color sheet
PSP2 is a colored steel sheet that enhances the durability of existing polyester-based paints, offering a cost-effective solution for improving the longevity of existing coatings. PSP2 is used in building interiors and exteriors where chemical, corrosion and weathering resistance is required.&nbsp;

4)	PPG
PPG is pattern printed steel-building materials
PPG is an ideal solution for finishing sophisticated and luxurious building products. Once applied to a cold-rolled steel sheet, the transparent clear coating provides a base for a variety of patterns created by a special printing process (GRAVURE-OFF SET).&nbsp;

5)	PBG2
PBG2 is antibiotic Color Steel Sheet
PBG2 is a colored steel sheet mixed with antibacterial agents, which offers excellent antibacterial properties along with weather and corrosion resistance. It effectively suppresses the reproduction of bacteria, viruses and fungi.&nbsp;

6)	PVS2
PVS2 is PVC-Sol
PVS2 is a color steel plate coated with PVC (polyvinyl chloride) resin, which is covered with a 200μm thick film to provide high durability even in harsh environments.
