UCME Glass Beads
The product is manufactured by AllGlass using 100% recycled soda-lime glass. The primary function of the product is to enhance road safety by improving the visibility of road markings through retroreflection. The beads are applied either as drop-on or premix components in thermoplastic or cold plastic road marking systems. They comply with the European standards EN 1423 and EN 1424, which define performance and quality requirements for retroreflective materials.
Retroreflection is the key performance indicator for road marking beads. It refers to the amount of light reflected to the driver from vehicle headlights. This is measured using a reflectometer at a geometry corresponding to a 30-meter observation distance. The unit of measurement is millicandelas per square meter per lux (mcd/m²/lux).
