LK PE-X Universal Pipe with additional insulated conduit pipes

Pipe pre-assembled in conduit pipes of polypropylene and additional exterior insulation of polythene. Coils supplied in cardboard packaging.

Production takes place in Middelfart, Denmark, and involves an extrusion process using polyethylene, additives and oxygen barrier materials as inputs. The first process step include mixing and conveying of the polyethylene and additives, feeding into a tube extruder where the mixture is melted, homogenized, formed into pipe, and subsequently crosslinked in an IR-oven.

The crosslinked pipe is cooled and calibrated to correct dimension and the oxygen barrier is added before the pipe is cooled and coiled onto drums.

After a post treatment of the PE-Xa pipe to remove process residues, the final pip-in-pipe products are manufactured by extruding a corrugated polypropylene tube on the outside of the PE-Xa pipe with added extra insulation. The product is then coiled and packaged before being delivered to the Customer.

Values correspond to product number 1882337, which has been selected as the representative product since it accounts for over 80% of the total sales volume for the product group.

Climate impact from the energy mix in production is 0,628 kg CO2 eq. per kWh (GWP-GHG)
