Precast concrete products for lightweight façades and claddings

Concrete panels reinforced with fibres (not glass) (UNE-EN 14992): Precast panel that is used as a cladding element on building façades, generally of small thickness and that is composed of microconcrete reinforced with any type of fiber (polymer, steel, textile, etc.) except for glass fibres, dispersed throughout its mass.

Sheet panels made of GRC (UNE-EN 14992 and UNE 127992-1): Microconcrete panels reinforced with dispersed glass-fibres throughout its mass (GRC). It consists of a thin shell, reinforced by ribs of the same material, which function as hollow beams and ensure the rigidity of the whole. Its manufacture is practically handmade, generally by projecting the mixture with a gun (which cuts the fiberglass and mixes it with the mortar), on a mold of the dimensions of the panel to be manufactured. It is used for small parts that have a geometry that gives inertia to the element, such as cornices or moldings. It consists of a shell of minimum thickness of 10 mm, reinforced by ribs of the same material, which function as hollow beams and guarantee the rigidity of the whole.

Sandwich panels made of GRC (UNE-EN 14992 and UNE 127992-1): Microconcrete panels reinforced with dispersed glass-fibres throughout its mass (GRC). Composed of 2 outer sheets and a thermal insulation core. Both sheets are joined perimeter, forming a very resistant parallelepiped; for added rigidity, it may also carry inner nerves.

Stud-frame panels made of GRC (UNE-EN 14992 and UNE 127992-1): Microconcrete panels reinforced with dispersed glass-fibres throughout its mass (GRC). It is made up of a GRC sheet that is connected to an auxiliary metal structure (called stud-frame) and is anchored to the main structure of the building. The thermal insulation can be placed between the bars of the structure itself, or it can be projected.

Façade finishes: This includes different types of precast elements, generally made of mass concrete, such as copings, sills, slab fronts and any other element intended to finish off or complete the cladding of buildings, act as railings and close balconies, terraces, etc.

Roof tiles (UNE-EN 490): Small parts for cladding sloping roofs, as well as cladding of exterior and interior walls.

Other elements for façades and light cladding : Any other precast concrete element used for the design and construction of façades and light cladding, which does not fall within the above definitions.
