Precast concrete products for pipes

Pipes (UNE-EN 1916 and UNE 127916): Precast hollow concrete element, either mass concrete or reinforced concrete, mainly intended to conduct sewage, rainwater and surface water by gravitation (generally at low pressure) in generally buried pipes. It is a hollow element with a uniform inner section along its entire length, except in the assembly area. The joints are preformed as male and female terminations, and include one or more sealing joints.

Manholes (UNE-EN 1917 and UNE 127917): Components that allow access to the network for inspection, cleaning or operation purposes. They usually have a circular section and are made of reinforced concrete. They are usually made up of different pieces, each with a specific purpose. Manholes are made up of several elements: base elements, screed rings, reduction pieces, finial slabs, etc.

Utility shafts: Similar to manholes but for more general use, as they are used at intersections, connections, or as an access point to any type of underground installation (electrical, telecommunications, accessible points of water supply networks, etc.). They are usually cubic concrete pieces and may or may not be closed at the bottom at the base.

Mouthpieces: Precast pieces of reinforced concrete intended for the support of the ground for the realization of drainage and transverse drainage of roads, parcel concentrations, highways, railways and all types of roads. They are placed at the ends of any concrete pipe and are composed of one or more pieces that can be dismantled and reassembled.

Canals: Auxiliary products whose function is to receive rainwater runoff and direct it to the drains, so that it passes into the drainage or sanitation systems. Curbs for scuppers, pipe pipes, gutters, downspouts, etc. are included.

Gully tops (UNE-EN 124-4): Reinforced concrete elements used to close the openings of utility shafts, manholes, telecommunications installations, telephone wiring, underground water or natural gas pipes, etc., generally placed at pavement level (urban and interurban roads, sidewalks, etc.).

Other pipe elements: Any other precast concrete element used for the design and construction of pipes, which does not fall within the above definitions.
