The declared products are OSIOCELL FR/M and OSIOCELL FR/AL, self-adhesive thermal insulation products made of closed-cell, chemically cross-linked expanded polyethylene (PE), supplied in rolls and intended for building and HVAC applications.
The manufacturing process includes extrusion, chemical foaming and cross-linking of polyolefin resins, followed by cutting and hot lamination processes. Depending on the product variant, additional layers are applied, such as a 40 μm aluminium foil for the FR/AL products and a self-adhesive backing to facilitate installation. All products in the declared range include fire-retardant additives to improve reaction-to-fire performance.
The EPD covers multiple product variants with thicknesses ranging from 5 to 20 mm and reports average environmental performance results for the declared product group.
