Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Wire
Hot-dipped galvanized steel wire (HDG wire) is manufactured from high quality wire rod via continuous hot-dip galvanization. The core principle is immersing clean steel wire into molten pure zinc (99.995% Zn) at 450–460°C, forming a metallurgically bonded zinc-iron alloy coating. This thick, adherent zinc layer provides long-term anti-corrosion barrier and sacrificial cathodic protection for outdoor use.
Simplified Linear Flow:
Pay-off → Straightening → Wire Drawing → Annealing (Soft Wire Only) → Alkaline Degreasing → Water Rinsing → Acid Pickling → Rinsing → Fluxing → Hot Drying → Hot-Dip Zinc Kettle → Gas Wiping → Air & Water Cooling → Passivation/Waxing → Quality Inspection → Coiling → Packaging
Key Technical Advantages of This Process:
Thick zinc coating with strong metallurgical adhesion, no easy peeling compared to electro-galvanized wire;
Continuous high-speed production line with stable coating uniformity;
Complete surface pretreatment eliminates coating defects (pinholes, bare spots, bubbles);
Adjustable zinc coating weight to match inland, coastal or heavy corrosive industrial environments.
