Electricity from Vattenfall’s Nordic Hydropower
Product information
Vattenfall AB owns or has majority share in about 56 large-scale hydropower stations in the Nordic countries and about 32 small-scale stations. The hydropower generation that Vattenfall Vattenkraft AB disposes during an average year is 32 TWh. Several reservoirs enable the generation to follow the load curve, and electricity can be delivered without backup sources.
This EPD reflects the representative average environmental impact from Vattenfall’s Nordic hydropower based on a representative selection of fourteen stations; thirteen in Sweden and one in Finland.
The declared unit is 1 kWh of electricity net generated and thereafter distributed to a customer connected to the Swedish regional grid (70/130 kV).
