PCR description
This PCR is currently being updated to version 2.0.0. The updating process was initiated 2026-01-29. The new version of this PCR will follow the GPI 5.0.
The open consultation of the draft PCR, planned to start within Q2 2026, will start with an e-mail invitation to identify stakeholders. Any stakeholder is welcome to provide comments during this open consultation.
The PCR is expected to be published in Q4 2026.
The indicated dates are however preliminary and subject to change.
If you are interested in joining the PCR committee or want to be added to the stakeholder list for the open consultation, please contact the PCR moderator (see contact below).
For questions on the PCR, please contact the PCR moderator Elena Neri, INDACO2 srl.
For questions on the PCR development process, see the PCR FAQ or contact the secretariat.
2025-03-05: Version 1.0.1 was published. The editorial changes include a clarification that the rules on scrap allocation are unclear in the PCR. Until a large update of the PCR has been made (with clear and consistent allocation rules), two allocation methods are allowed and the EPD shall declare which method has been used.
This document provides Product Category Rules (PCR) for the assessment of the environmental performance of basic aluminium products and special alloys and the declaration of this performance by an EPD. The product category corresponds to UN CPC 4153 "Semi-finished products of aluminium or aluminium alloys'', except for material destined to become a construction product.
