Being updated - Bearings, bearings units and parts thereof

This PCR is currently being updated to version 2.0.0. The updating process was initiated 2026-09-21. The new version of this PCR will follow the GPI 5.0.

The open consultation of the draft PCR, planned to start within Q4 2026, will start with an e-mail invitation to identify stakeholders. Any stakeholder is welcome to provide comments during this open consultation.

The PCR is expected to be published in Q2/Q3 2027.

The indicated dates are however preliminary and subject to change.

This document provides product category rules (PCR) for the assessment of the environmental performance of bearings, bearing units and parts thereof and the declaration of this performance by an EPD.

The product category corresponds to UN CPC 4331 (Ball or roller bearings), a subset of UN CPC 4332 (Transmission shafts and cranks; bearing housings and plain shaft bearings; gears and gearing; ball or roller screws, gear boxes and other speed changers; flywheels and pulleys; clutches and shaft couplings; articulated link chain), and a subset of UN CPC 4333 (Parts for the goods of classes 4331 and 4332).
