Getting started

Kickstart your EPD journey with an introduction to Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and the EPD development process, designed to help you confidently create your first EPD.

To publish an EPD, you first need to create an account in the EPD Portal.

The EPD Portal is the online workspace where EPD Owners, LCA Practitioners, and Verifiers collaborate throughout the EPD process - from creating and managing EPDs to verification and publication.

Creating an account is free of charge, allowing you to explore the portal and become familiar with its features before registering an EPD. Publication fees are only applied when an EPD is registered, according to the current price list.

Getting started

1. Create your account

Visit the EPD Portal and select Register account and follow the steps to create an account. If you already have an account, simply sign in.

2. Connect to an organisation

After signing in, you can either create a new organisation or request to join an existing one.

Users can belong to multiple organisations, making it easy for LCA practitioners and verifiers to collaborate with different EPD Owners.

3. Start working

Once connected to an organisation, you can begin working in the Portal.
The available roles and their permissions are described below:

  • EPD Owners can create, manage, and submit EPDs for publication

  • LCA Practitioners can prepare and compile EPD information on behalf of EPD Owners

  • Verifiers can access EPDs that have been assigned to them for verification
