Ownership and limitation on use of EPD
Limitations
EPDs within the same product category but published in different EPD programmes, may not be comparable. For two EPDs to be comparable, they shall be based on the same PCR (including the same first-digit version number) or be based on fully aligned PCRs or versions of PCRs; cover products with identical functions, technical performances and use (e.g. identical declared/functional units); have identical scope in terms of included life-cycle stages (unless the excluded life-cycle stage is demonstrated to be insignificant); apply identical impact assessment methods (including the same version of characterisation factors); and be valid at the time of comparison.
Ownership
The EPD Owner has the sole ownership, liability, and responsibility for the EPD.

| Product description | Outdoor panel produced from planed spruce. The panels are manufactured in various qualities and profiles according to specification. The average moisture ratio of the declared product is 16%. The raw material is sourced from responsibly managed forests in Sweden, with the majority of timber coming from within a radius of up to 150 kilometres from the sawmill. The production facilities use renewable energy, with heat generated from biomass and electricity from renewable sources. The panels are painted with traditional Falu red paint. The water-based paint contains natural pigments and renewable binders. |

| Additional information about the underlying LCA-based information | This EPD is generated by Tyréns EPD-generator 4.0.0 - Sveden trä which is a fully pre-verified EPD tool. The tool is verified by Niels Jungbluth, ESU-services GmbH. All processes are fixed and variable input data for each wood product i.e constituent material/components (Items) is governed by a menu. The review of the EPD-generator its constituent processes and the fixed content of the EPD is accepted based on the verification of the tool and the first EPD verification by the tool. Identification name and version number of the EPD-generator: Tyréns EPD-generator 4.0.0 – Sveden trä. Allocation: The allocation are made in accordance with the EN15804. Mass allocation is used in the forestry between sawn timber and timber to the pulp mill. Transport to the sawn mill, manufacturing of sawn and planed timber are economical allocated except for the drying process that is attributed to sawn timber. Information regarding forest road, plant nursery school, plant transport, soil preparation, fertilizing, cleaning, thinning and harvesting are based on IVL, 2025. Information regarding land use and gravel production are based on EcoInvent. Mass allocation has been used for the production in Vansbro. Cut off: Module D does not include output flows from recovered material/energy from A3 due to cut-off. |

| Technology description including background system | All raw materials are processed in the production facility in Vansbro. The raw materials in A1, is timber and paint. The transport mode, A2, to Vansbro is lorry. Production process, in A3, consists of painting wooden products. |
| Scrap (recycled material) inputs contribution level | Less than 10% of the GWP-GHG results in modules A1-A3 come from scrap inputs |
Data quality assessment
| Description of data quality assessment and reference years | When modeling in Simapro, Ecoinvent data (updated November 2023) has been used for generic data. Input data are gathered from the actual manufacturing plant with product-specific processes, specific amounts, specific waste, and spillage %, specific energy mix, specific transportation distances and transportation type and EPD’s from some of the suppliers are primary data. Primary data are collected directly from supplier and production site. The percentage primary data is estimated in this EPD for module A1-A3. Primary data are related to amount of energy, transportation and direct emission used throughout module A1-A3 and underlying EPD:s. The reported share of primary data is associated with uncertainty, as one or several EPDs that are used as data source lack information on the share of primary data used. The reference year is 2024. |

| The share of primary data is calculated based on GWP-GHG results. It is a simplified indicator for data quality that supports the use of more primary data to increase the representativeness of and comparability between EPDs. Note that the indicator does not capture all relevant aspects of data quality and is not comparable across product categories. | |||||

| Disclaimer 1 | This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator. | ||||||||||||||||
| Disclaimer 2 | The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties of these results are high or as there is limited experience with the indicator. | ||||||||||||||||
| Disclaimer 3 | The results of the impact categories land use, human toxicity (cancer), human toxicity, noncancer and ecotoxicity (freshwater) may be highly uncertain in LCAs that include capital goods/infrastructure in generic datasets, in case infrastructure/capital goods contribute greatly to the total results. This is because the LCI data of infrastructure/capital goods used to quantify these indicators in currently available generic datasets sometimes lack temporal, technological and geographical representativeness. Caution should be exercised when using the results of these indicators for decision-making purposes. | ||||||||||||||||
