The International EPD System reaches the milestone of hosting over 10,000 valid EPDs
Many EPDs have been published since the first published EPD in 1998, and we now host more than 10,000 valid EPDs in the International EPD System.
Since the first EPD published in the International EPD System, the growth of EPDs, supported by regulation and market demand, has been exponential particularly in recent years. At the end of the summer, the number of registered EPD in the International EPD System reached a milestone at 10,000, all thanks to the trust of our valued clients and dedication from all our stakeholders.
Breaking it down to geographical data, the top five countries that have a great share of the 10,000+ EPDs are Italy, Sweden, Spain, Türkiye, and the United Kingdom. The category of construction products holds a main share of the overall EPDs, taking up a dominance of about 80% of the EPDs. If we look into non-construction products, the top three categories are food and beverages (18%), paper and plastic (13%), and metal, mineral, plastic, and glass (13%).
