A Weld Overlay Clad Pipe, often referred to simply as clad pipe, is a type of pipeline component that consists of two layers of material. The core or base material is typically made of carbon or low-alloy steel, while an additional layer of corrosion-resistant alloy material, known as cladding, is applied to the external surface of the pipe.

The cladding material is selected for its excellent corrosion resistance properties, making it suitable for use in environments where corrosion is a significant concern, such as in the oil and gas industry, chemical processing, and other industries. The cladding material is usually a high-alloy, corrosion-resistant material like stainless steel, nickel alloys, or other alloys designed to withstand corrosive conditions.

The welding process is used to bond the cladding material to the base material, creating a robust and durable pipeline component that can resist corrosion and other environmental factors.
