Hager Roton Continuous Geared Hinges

Hager Companies has been manufacturing the original Continuous Geared Aluminum Hinges for over 25 years. Hager’s Roton continuous geared hinges provide superior performance you can rely on in high-traffic areas. Roton hinges use unique gears designed to minimize lateral wear on the hinges while evenly distributing door weight along the full length of the frame. Roton hinges are ideal for new construction and retrofit applications and are offered in light, standard, heavy-duty, and extra heavy duty as well as full surface, half surface, and concealed, all with electric prep options. The unique design of Roton consists of three important parts: an internal rolling contact gear profile, a high-strength cover channel, and solid bearings made of polymer. Working together, these parts evenly distribute door weight and maintain door alignment for superior performance. Hager Roton hinges are made from anodized aluminum and are available in a variety of sizes, finishes, and configurations to cover various door thicknesses and/or wide throw applications. 48 top selling hinge products were assessed to generate this report, including 500 series light duty continuous hinges, 780 series concealed leaf continuous hinges, 780 series full surface continuous hinges, 780 series half surface continuous hinges, and 1200 series extra heavy duty continuous hinges including sizes 48”, 83”, 85”, 95”, 107”, 109”, and 119”. All Hager Roton hinges are sold with fasteners (screws and associated hardware) for installation. As fasteners are sold with the product, they are included as raw materials of the product itself rather than as ancillary materials for installation. Roton packaging varies between product configurations.

Not all requirements in the GPI are fulfilled, particularly the requirement, for construction products, to follow EN 15804 for certain aspects of the LCA method. This EPD is based on a PCR that satisfies procurement rules at the federal, state, and municipal levels which call for EPDs based on the UL Part B PCR. The ULPart B PCR was used to meet regulatory (example: Buy Clean California Act, etc.) and market expectations (example: Building Transparency EC3 comparisons, LEED and existing vendor procurement requirements, product scoring programs, etc.). The EPD should not be used outside of this context.
