Overhead Energy Line Steel Tower

Ersan Company carries out all stages of steel tower design and production in accordance with international standards. The production process is systematically conducted, from engineering analyses to final quality control tests.

The production of towers begins with the design and engineering phase. The towers are analyzed and verified using computer based system software, taking into account relevant conductor, wind, ice and seismic loads, which will be applied on the towers, in combination with regional climate conditions, and safety factors. Steel section selection and pre-processing are carried out for the completed towers. High-strength structural steels are subjected to mechanical and chemical tests.

All production is carried out in accordance with EN 1090-1 and EN 3834-2 standards. Materials are processed with precision as per high tech industrial standards using CNC cutting and plasma cutting systems. If necessary, bending, drilling, and modular part preparation ensure the pole structure is ready for assembly. Connection points, connection plates, and load-bearing elements are machined in accordance with the design dimensions. During this stage, the geometric formation of all cells and the distribution of the assembly are checked. Welding is a critical step in assembling the towers into modules that can be assembled. Weld quality is visually inspected by authorized personnel in accordance with EN ISO 9712, using EN ISO 17637 penetrant tests. This is confirmed with other necessary tests, and the entire process is carried out in accordance with ISO 9001, EN 1090-1, and EN 3834-2.

After the conclusion of mechanical processing of tower elements, they are introduced into HDG (Hot Dip Galvanization) process, by applying Zinc Coating on the members; for protection of the tower elements against corrosion. HDG is applied in accordance with EN ISO 1461. Galvanizing provides long-lasting protection against breakage of members due to rusting and reduces maintenance time.

In the final stage, the tower members are verified through assembly and quality control tests. Dimensional tolerances, mechanical strength, joint freedom, and stability criteria are tested before the product is ready for shipment. All systems are operated in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, EN 1090, EN 3834, and EN ISO 1461 standards.

Ersan's steel towers offer reliable solutions for overhead energy transmission line projects, providing high durability, long service life and reliable performance. Stability, sustainability, and energy efficiency are prioritized throughout the production process, while material waste is minimized.
